Handmade E-Liquids FAQ

What is a DIY e-liquid?

A DIY e-liquid is simply the same liquid you can purchase from a vape store, but made on your own. Making your liquid on your own allows you to cut down the cost of the final product and customize the flavor to a great extent. A typical handmade e-liquid consists of four core elements, namely:

– PG
– VG
– Flavoring
– Nicotine (optional)

How to make a DIY e-liquid?

To make a homemade e-liquid, you need to follow the next simple steps:

1. Find a recipe and study it
Check out the DIY e-liquid recipes and choose the one you like. Make sure you understand it. There might be some abbreviations in the recipe, learn what they mean before you get down to mixing stuff:

– PG stands for Propylene Glycol. It is the most frequently used e-liquid base. It has quick absorption time and little consistency, which makes it an excellent choice for a pure flavor and a strong throat hit.
– VG stands for Vegetable Glycerin. This base material has strong consistency and slow absorption, which makes it a perfect choice for those users who value dense clouds of vapor.
– TPA stands for the leading manufacturer of flavors on the e-juice market, the Perfumers Apprentice. Opt for flavors that have a “DIY Endeavours” label.

Note: we recommend you to mix VG and PG in your e-liquids. 70VG/30PG is recommended for sub-ohm vaping.

How to measure the ingredients for the homemade e-juice recipes?

Every e-liquid recipe has a list of ingredients as well as a percentage next to each component. To define how much ml or drops of each element you need, use a website like eJuice Me Up that will translate the measurements for you.

How to make an e-liquid?

After you measured all the elements needed for the recipe, mix them in one of the possible ways: by volume or by weight. To mix the ingredients by volume, you simply need to use separate syringes for each ingredient and fill the bottles using mL measurements.

To mix the ingredients by weight, you simply need to put the bottle on scales and start dripping your flavors into the container using grams measurement until the desired percentage is reached. Here are the best e-juice recipes we think you might want to give a try.

  1. Among the best e juice recipes that I’ve encountered in my life are the ones that involve mustard milk. It is easy to add and you have a pretty large margin of error. However, one major downside of this additive is that it takes a whole week before you can use it. I know that this is how it should be, but man, a whole week.

  2. I used to look only at premium e juice recipes but then I decided to give niche ones a try. You know what? I’ve been missing out on a ton of things. I guess it serves me right for listening to “elite vapers” all the time!

  3. Huge fan of the e juice clone recipes section, it’s so packed and has many good things to mix and match. Can we get more content like this? I want to try more of it!

  4. Best DIY e-juice recipes usually involve high-quality additives and I can’t say this is for every budget. But what I can say that those that are listed here are good. Especially the dessert section. Man Bocadillo is something entirely else. It’s so good I can’t even begin to describe. If you want to try out these simple e juice recipes, go with the Bocadillo.

  5. Say whatever you want but best tobacco e juice recipe is hands down Cuba Libre. Just like the cocktail, the flavor is so rich and the after taste is simply outstanding. I highly encourage everyone to give it a try. It’s not expensive and you’ll have a great time doing it too. Thank me later!

  6. After reading a dozen of these lists, I can say that this one is among the best e liquid recipes list I’ve seen to date. It has almost every taste possible and quality (not to mention dificulty) of these recipies is spot on. I just wish we had a way to buy these thing directly when reading the article, that would definitely save a lot of time.

  7. Kinda like the fact that we aren’t limited by the manufacturer in terms of flavors. We can mix stuff and get outstanding results all while not being confined by the lack of additives. This is something we don’t see very often and this is something I hope will stick for as long as possible.

  8. What I loved about this article is that it covers the proportions. I have absolutely no idea how much should I add and when should I add these things. Now I know there is a lot of info out there, but I don’t trust every resource, call me paranoid. On the bright side, Cassy delivered on all fronts, as usual. Thanks!

  9. Have absolutely no idea why would you mix your stuff. It just ruins the flavor and the average price will be higher. Just dont understand what is all the hype about. I’m not complaining, I just don’t understand. Can someone prove me wrong or something?

  10. Can’t say that I like every recipie but there are a few that standout more than the others. It’s like at the bar, some cocktails are good and others, not much. Same goes for e-juice recipies. You have to find the one you like the most but to do so, you have to try them all.
