The Build Quality
Being a box mod, the Target Mini II is a pretty-looking device. It is still quite similar to the original release but feels a bit more expensive in hands. The materials are solid and there aren’t many gaps present.
It doesn’t crack when pressure is applied and the overall feel of the texture is great. The vape mod has a 2000mAh battery on-board, which is 600mAh more than the original model, but the size of the device didn’t change at all.
It is still comfortable to hold and there are no sharp edges either. We love every bit of this design and the build quality is up there with the best in the industry.
Using the Device
Using the device is similar to any other box mod vape. On the unit, you have a single multi-purpose button and a plus and minus button for additional control. With them, you control the UI:
- Press the main button three times (or one long press) to activate the device;
- Use the plus and minus buttons to navigate the menu;
- And press the main button again to select what you want.
As you can see, it is pretty straightforward. The only downside of this design approach is that the main button will most likely wear down as time goes (you can’t do anything without it).
And then there’s the lack of an auto squonker system. We’d appreciate such functionality in Mini III.
Key Advantages Of the Target Mini II
Tea Fiber Cotton Coils
Being a modern gadget, the Target Mini II supports tea fiber cotton coils. You’ve heard us, tea cotton coils. The main advantage of such coils is that they deliver better taste, smoother vape, and most importantly, smaller clouds, making it perfect for stealth vaping.
This characteristic also makes the device futureproof, which will surely be appreciated by early adopters.
OLED Screen
Another cool feature of the device is it’s OLED display. It’s great as it is easily useable in direct sunlight conditions and it doesn’t irradiate like crazy in poor lit conditions.
Granted, you have to configure the brightness of the screen every time you use it. But overall, the visibility was great and we were able to read every bit of information on it. Definitely a step up in the right direction for the company.
The Fire Button
One of the best things about the device is the position of the fire button. It feels so natural as it is easily accessible and it won’t accidentally be pressed in the bag.
The pressure sensitivity is spot-on and the fact that it doesn’t stick out makes the device seem thinner than it actually is. Good stuff all around!
MTL and DTL Support
Lastly, the device supports both a Mouth to Lung (MTL) and Direct to Lung (DTL) styles of vaping. This is a nice feature as it makes the device so much more diverse in terms of vape delivery.
It also means that you don’t have to buy another device to test out different vape delivery systems.
Target Mini II Kit Performance
We’ve tested the device and we have the results. So, the Target Mini II, just like its predecessor, has excellent specs on paper. And thankfully, that translates well into real-life use, too.
Both coils (the 1.0 one and the 0.6ohm) feature great longevity, reaching approximately 2 weeks. As for flavor and vapor production, the device delivered small clouds and good, potent taste, which is kind of a miracle for a device of this size and shape.
As for battery life, the system lasted us for around four hours in MLT mode and 2 in DTL mode, which is okay, especially when compared to the previous iteration. And the charging times were around 2 hours. This makes 2 to 1, definitely an upgrade.
Verdict
Overall, Target Mini II is a powerful system that has a lot to offer. The build quality is superb and the performance is great. The battery life should be enough for most vapers and the ability to use two types of vaping methods make it quite special.
